One of the very first mountain destinations we visited after settling in California, Huntington Lake is an all around beautiful mountain lake. Only about 60 miles from Fresno yet high in the Sierras at about 7,000 feet, its cooler temps make it a great escape from the valley summer heat. Huntington Lake's sandy shoreline is wonderful for swimming, and the afternoon breezes make this a favorite sailing lake. We were lucky to be there on the same day as the 2016 High Sierra Sailing Regatta!
